»The best experience comes from taking on challenges outside your comfort zone«

What do esports and consulting have in common? According to Nina Łabęcka: teamwork, communication, and constant problem-solving. Those similarities have shaped her journey at Netcompany, where taking on challenges early helped accelerate both her confidence and career.

When Nina Łabęcka joined Netcompany as a consultant, she didn’t know exactly what kind of project she would land on. But she knew she was ready for a challenge. That mindset quickly became the foundation of her journey, taking her career to the next level.

Today, Nina is working on a project for Munich Airport, where her team supports and modernises existing systems. Instead of building something from scratch, they improve what’s already there by introducing new tools and making complex systems more efficient.

»It’s about making things work better,« Nina explains. »We replace manual processes with automated solutions that save time and improve reliability.«

From the very beginning, Nina’s role stood out. While most teams focus on developing new applications, her work revolves around modernisation, configuration, and problem-solving in complex environments. »It’s less about writing traditional code and more about understanding systems and improving them step by step.«

»I like having ownership and tackling something new.«

Responsibility from day one

What surprised Nina most wasn’t technology – it was the level of trust.

Just a few months after joining, she was given significant responsibility on a project. She stepped into a team lead role, coordinating a small sub-team and working directly with the client.

»That trust really stood out to me,« she says. »I had the chance to prove myself early on and take responsibility for something important.«

Today, Nina continues to work independently on a key part of the project, acting as the main point of contact for the client. It means making decisions, aligning expectations, and ensuring progress.

»It can be challenging,« she admits. »But that’s exactly what I enjoy. I like having ownership and tackling something new.«

Growth through challenge

For Nina, growth comes from stepping outside of her comfort zone. Routine isn’t what drives her – variety does. »If I had to do the same thing every day for months, I’d get bored, she says. »Here, I’m constantly learning – new tools, new technologies, new ways of working.«

Early in the project, she had the opportunity to visit Munich Airport and see the infrastructure behind the scenes, including baggage handling systems.

»It’s something you can’t fully understand just by looking at a screen,« she explains. »Seeing how everything works in real life gives you a completely different perspective.«

»Sometimes I’m a team captain in-game, just like I’ve been leading a small team at work.«

From team captain to team leader

Outside of work, Nina has a long-standing passion for gaming, especially esports, participating in team-based competitions and leagues.

And while it might seem like a completely different world, the overlap is clear.

»Being part of a team is the common denominator,« Nina says. »Whether it’s in a work project or in a game – it’s about building relationships, supporting each other, ensuring clear communication and feedback.« In both environments, she had the opportunity to step into leadership roles – organising teams, assigning responsibilities, and guiding others toward a shared goal.

»Sometimes I’m a team captain in-game, just like I’ve been leading a small team at work,« she adds and admits that her competitive mindset also plays a crucial role. The drive to solve problems translates directly into how she approaches her work.

Nina’s game plan for the future

Looking ahead, Nina is particularly interested in deepening her knowledge in DevOps and software architecture – areas that allow her to combine technical knowledge with a broader system perspective.

Nina’s story is one of ownership, curiosity, and continuous development. At Netcompany, she’s not just gaining experience; she’s shaping her role by taking responsibility and growing through real challenges.
