NHS appoints Netcompany to deliver new NHS-owned technology for life-saving UK screening services

The five-year partnership will see Netcompany support NHS England to operate and transform the digital services that underpin the NHS’s national adult screening programmes, building new NHS-owned services to support the health service’s shift from treatment to prevention.

NHS England has selected Netcompany as the digital delivery partner for its adult screening programmes, in a five-year partnership valued at over £215 million. Netcompany will deliver using an ecosystem of UK partners and a commitment from them of at least 33% of contract revenue to small and medium-sized businesses. The partnership begins in September 2026 and covers all seven national adult screening programmes, including breast, cervical and bowel cancers, covering around 15 million invitations a year.

The services will be sovereign and NHS-owned: built in the UK and controlled by the NHS. The appointment forms a central part of the NHS Digital Prevention Services Programme (DPSP) and the government’s ambition to shift the health service from treatment to prevention.

The purpose is earlier diagnosis and faster treatment. Screening already saves thousands of lives in England every year, and the partnership is designed to find more disease earlier, shorten the time between an invitation and a result, and make it easier for people to take part.

Netcompany will run and enhance the digital services behind the existing screening pathways while building the next generation, including a new national breast screening service and an enhanced cervical screening service that invites people digitally and offers them an HPV self-testing kit at home. Building on the transformation, the NHS’s own digital prevention teams have already delivered, the work will make screening progressively more personal, targeted to the individual rather than at broad population groups, with a particular focus on improving uptake among communities screening has historically under-served.

»We are taking on one of the most ambitious digital programmes in the UK healthcare sector, further strengthening Netcompany’s position as a key public‑sector partner. Screening saves lives, and the digital systems that support this programme have a decisive impact on millions of citizens. Our role is to build modern, secure and data‑driven solutions that ensure screening is fast, effective and targeted,« says André Rogaczewski, CEO and co‑founder, Netcompany.

Netcompany brings a proven track record of delivering national healthcare and screening programmes across the UK and Europe, alongside mission-critical digital services for the NHS and UK government already used by millions of people.

The appointment puts the government’s procurement agenda into practice, using the purchasing power of the public sector to strengthen UK businesses and widen access to government contracts. Netcompany will deliver alongside an ecosystem of trusted UK partners, including dxw, Create/Change and Adroc, with Softwire as a scaling partner. A dedicated Screening Innovation Fund will back SME-led proofs of concept, including new entrants to public sector work, with a target of one in five supply chain businesses led by underrepresented groups. This will build a diverse UK supplier base rather than concentrating it in a single provider.
