Netcompany will build the digital foundation for the distribution of social benefits in Sweden

Netcompany positions itself as a central digitalisation partner in Sweden with three new strategic agreements, including one with the newly formed Swedish Payments Agency. As part of this partnership, Netcompany will build the digital foundation for all government payments of social benefits to Swedish citizens. The foundation will be built on Netcompany’s SOLON TAX solution, which is already used in Greece and the Baltics, in addition to Sweden.

The Swedish Payments Agency was established in early 2024 in response to the significant financial losses the Swedish government faces each year due to incorrect payments, welfare fraud, and organised crime. According to the Swedish government, between 15 and 20 billion Swedish kronor are incorrectly disbursed annually from the state welfare systems.

Today, each authority in Sweden manages its own social benefit payments. The new authority has been tasked with centralising state payments by creating a unified bank account registry and a transaction account to handle information on upcoming and completed payments.

Netcompany has been entrusted with the task of building the digital foundation and ensuring integration with authorities and banks. The solution is based on SOLON TAX as the core system – a system that also serves as the foundation for the tax administrations in Greece and Lithuania.

With this agreement, Netcompany is a key critical service provider in Sweden and strengthening its position following its breakthrough in the Swedish market in June 2024 with a multi-year contract with the Swedish Tax Agency.

»Netcompany’s mission is to support public authorities and businesses across Europe with critical solutions that promote transparency and fairness. With SOLON TAX as the technological foundation, we are helping to solve a major societal challenge and ensuring that public funds are managed responsibly and efficiently – to the benefit of Sweden's citizens.«

Greater footprint in Sweden

The Swedish Payments Agency selected Netcompany and SOLON TAX as they best meet their requirements. The Swedish Tax Agency and Swedish Customs have entered new partnerships with Netcompany.

With these agreements, Netcompany strengthens its European presence with an office in Stockholm and the establishment of a Swedish entity.
