Netcompany to strengthen Danes' access to public services

Netcompany has once again been entrusted with the maintenance and further development of borger.dk, the Danish national portal for public services. The contract has an estimated value of up to DKK 185 million and runs for two years with the option of two one-year extensions.

Borger.dk is the gateway for Danish citizens to access public self-service solutions for a wide range of interactions with the public sector — from applying for student grants and renewing a passport to registering a change of address or applying for a state pension.

Since Netcompany took over responsibility for operating and developing the portal, both user satisfaction and visitor numbers have risen steadily. In 2025, the portal recorded more than 115 million visits, with 93 per cent of users reporting satisfaction with their experience. Netcompany has now secured the contract to continue developing and strengthening the portal, which serves as the Danish population’s single point of access to public services.

The new contract marks the beginning of the next phase for borger.dk, in which the portal will be modernised and prepared to meet future demands for usability, security and accessibility.

»In close collaboration with the Danish Agency for Digitalisation, we have ensured that borger.dk supports Danish citizens digitally from cradle to grave. We are now entering a new phase in which the portal will be further developed to improve the user experience and make the work of public authorities more efficient.«

Thomas Koefoed, Partner, Netcompany

Netcompany brings substantial domain knowledge to the further development of the portal, drawn from its experience with several of the underlying systems borger.dk is integrated with — including Digital Post and solutions in the tax domain. In addition, Netcompany provides a sovereign digital infrastructure that ensures data remains under Danish control and never leaves Europe.
