Senior Mobile App Developer (Kotlin)

We are seeking a talented Mobile App Developer with Kotlin expertise to join our growing mobile development team. As mobile-first solutions become increasingly critical to our client delivery, we need a skilled developer who can design, build, and maintain high-quality Android applications and contribute to cross-platform development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects across consulting environments, leveraging Kotlin Multiplatform to expand reach and efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design and develop robust Android applications using Kotlin, following best practices and architectural patterns 
• Implement and maintain Firebase services 
• Develop and maintain cross-platform solutions using Kotlin Multiplatform, maximizing code reusability across platforms 
• Enhance and optimize existing mobile solutions, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing technical enhancements 
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend developers to translate requirements into scalable mobile solutions 
• Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive testing and documentation 
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of our development processes 
• Support clients in understanding mobile best practices and GDS service standards where applicable 
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, optimizing app performance and user experience 
• Contribute to architectural decisions and evaluate emerging technologies 

Essential:

• Proven experience developing production Android applications with Kotlin 
• Hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform development 
• Hands-on experience with Google Firebase 
• Experience enhancing and optimizing existing mobile solutions 
• Strong understanding of mobile development principles and UI/UX considerations 

Desirable: 

• Familiarity with GDS Service Standard and government digital services 
• Background working in consultancy or client-facing environments
