Job Description

So, what are the main responsibilities of an SQL DBA in Netcompany? 

Our client, an international financial institution, is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to join their team. In this role, you will provide day-to-day, on-site support for internal application teams while managing and optimizing complex database environments. 

As an SQL DBA, you will,

  • Administer Microsoft SQL Server 19 instances on Windows Server with VMware virtualization.
  • Provide day-to-day, on-site support for internal application teams.
  • Support application releases and implement changes
  • Monitor database activity, optimize performance, and plan for forecasted resource needs.
  • Develop and maintain database procedures, configure standards, and maintain relevant documentation.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Sybase technologies.
Qualifications

What would make you a fit for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA).
  • Hands-on experience administering SQL Server Always On Availability Groups in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Windows-based environments, including server administration and integration with SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ensuring database reliability, security, and integrity.
  • Experience with automation and scripting, and working within IT Service Management (ITSM) tools aligned to an ITIL framework.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to collaborate effectively and ideally exposure to financial services environments and/or other database technologies (e.g. MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sybase).
