Netcompany to build Denmark’s system for all public payments

The Danish Agency for Digital Government has selected Netcompany to develop, operate, maintain, support, and further enhance the new Danish National Account Register also known as NemKonto. Handling over 100 million public payments annually, this system is a cornerstone of Denmark’s financial infrastructure.

Whenever Danish citizens receive payments from the public sector, it is facilitated through the shared public payment system, NemKonto. As a critical component of Denmark’s financial and digital infrastructure, NemKonto is set to undergo a significant legacy modernisation by Netcompany.

Netcompany will build the new NemKonto system from the ground up, taking responsibility for its development, operations, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement. Leveraging Netcompany’s state-of-the-art and versatile AMPLIO platform as its backbone, NemKonto will be future-proofed, strengthened, and resilient, ensuring that citizens and businesses receive their payments securely, reliably, and efficiently in an increasingly challenging threat environment.

»With an ever-evolving threat environment, it is crucial that our complex financial infrastructure remains robust, up-to-date, and flexible for further development. We are taking a step towards that with this new NemKonto system built on Netcompany’s platform technology, which already plays a key role in critical infrastructure across Denmark and Europe. This agreement marks yet another significant step for Netcompany as a provider of critical financial technology,« says Thomas Koefoed, Partner at Netcompany.

This marks the second major financial sector agreement announced by Netcompany within a week. Recently, the company entered into a long-term partnership with the pension alliance Forca to drive a comprehensive digital transformation within the pensions industry.

The agreement with the Danish Agency for Digital Government regarding NemKonto spans eight years, with an option for extension
