Netcompany has partnered with Greece’s largest water supply and sewerage management company, EYDAP, to take a major strategic step towards establishing completely new capabilities for a more sustainable and secure future, harnessing proven platform technology and AI to protect public health and the environment, as well as strengthening the resilience of Greece’s critical infrastructure. Through an intelligent pollution detection system implemented across EYDAP’s wastewater network, Netcompany enables early identification of potential pollution incidents and the implementation of corrective actions in real-time where needed.
At the heart of this partnership is PULSE, Netcompany’s orchestration platform, developed to serve as the control tower for businesses and public authorities working with large ecosystems where multiple data points need to be collected, connected, and analysed for real-time decision making.
This marks the first major PULSE project for Netcompany in Greece, building on successful implementations in Denmark, the UK, Norway, Switzerland and Germany.
For EYDAP, PULSE will monitor and manage water and wastewater systems by collecting and analysing real-time data from sensors and automatic samplers throughout EYDAP’s network, providing a clear overview of wastewater quality and enabling an immediate response in the event of contamination.
- »As critical infrastructure like water supply and sewerage management becomes more complex and faces increasing demands for resilience, climate protection, and environmental challenges, the ability to collect, organise and act on data in real-time has become more critical than ever. With PULSE, we support EYDAP’s efforts in meeting Greek public health priorities and EU regulations regarding water quality, by giving them the clarity and control they need to operate and manage their sewerage network seamlessly. PULSE will be monitoring, anticipating and preventing incidents before they escalate, and enabling timely, AI-supported decision making when and where it matters most,« says Daniel Ezban, Global Infrastructure & Resilience Lead, Netcompany.
PULSE delivers full transparency and control over EYDAP’s 8,500-kilometer sewerage network, which serves 40% of Greece’s population, safeguarding critical infrastructure-such as pipelines, pumping stations, and wastewater treatment plants- and preventing environmental impact from industrial and other activities.
- »EYDAP is pleased to be working with Netcompany, using the PULSE platform at the heart of our innovative program for the qualitative analysis and monitoring of wastewater in the sewerage network. Specifically, PULSE will support our 40 mobile quality analysis and automatic sampling stations that operate around the clock, continuously recording the quality of wastewater flowing through our network. In cases where water quality thresholds are exceeded, the platform will ensure samples are collected automatically. The collected samples are analysed to identify pollution sources, and we will react accordingly. This process ensures the optimal operation of our network and facilities,« says Konstantinos Vougiouklakis, Executive Director of Sewerage Network, EYDAP.
