Netcompany enters Europe's largest market with historic digital transformation of Germany's second largest airport

Munich Airport (FMG) has selected AIRHART, developed by Netcompany and known as PULSE in other industries, as its new digital backbone. In addition, the airport has selected Netcompany as a strategic partner on a comprehensive framework agreement covering the airport’s digital transformation.

Netcompany continues its European growth by entering Europe’s largest market. Netcompany and Munich Airport (FMG), which with around 50 million annual passengers is Germany’s second largest airport, have shaken hands on a major platform contract and a comprehensive framework agreement.

AIRHART, known in other industries as PULSE, will be the new digital backbone of the entire Munich Airport ecosystem. It combines existing systems and real-time data into one solution, optimising the entire management of the airport and making it possible to predict incidents, minimise disruptions and make AI-supported decisions in real time. This allows the airport to increase efficiency and capacity using the same resources and physical infrastructure.

Passengers will experience significantly less waiting time and a smoother journey through every step from security screening to boarding the aircraft. Similarly, the platform ensures that passengers are provided with far more accurate information throughout their journey through the airport.

»Munich Airport has a strong commitment to innovation and creating a seamless experience for the millions of passengers who visit and transfer at our hub. The implementation of AIRHART and our partnership with Netcompany is a significant step towards that objective,« says Florian Lesch, Senior Vice President IT at Munich Airport.

»AIRHART will enable us to respond more effectively to the evolving needs of airport operations. The solution lays the foundation for modernised workflows designed to meet both current and future needs and is a key enabler towards our strategy as a data driven airport.«

In addition to the AIRHART agreement, Netcompany will be the sole supplier for a framework agreement covering the modernisation of the airport’s digital infrastructure. Netcompany will thus become the airport’s strategic partner and responsible for driving a comprehensive modernisation of Munich Airport’s hundreds of IT systems in the years to come.

»The digitalisation potential for European airports are immense, and Munich Airport will be among the pioneers to take advantage of the opportunities with AIRHART. By consolidating systems and orchestrating real-time data in one place, the AI-integrated platform makes it possible to make quick decisions that optimise operations and enhance the passenger experience. I am proud that Munich Airport, one of Europe’s leading airports, is embarking on a digital innovation journey with us that will pave a new groundbreaking way for all airport operations,« says Mehdi Motaghiani, CEO of Smarter Airports.

With this close partnership, Netcompany is writing another chapter in its entry into new European markets.

»Transparent, fair and responsible digitalisation is essential for maintaining strong and competitive societies in Europe. With our entrance into the German market, we continue our momentum as a key player in the development of more robust digital foundations across Europe. I am proud that Netcompany is once again taking responsibility for the future-proofing and strengthening of some of Europe’s most critical infrastructures with our platforms and products,« says André Rogaczewski, CEO of Netcompany.

The agreement with Munich Airport follows several major deals in Europe and emphasises the significant expansion of Netcompany’s platforms and products across markets. Netcompany’s entry into Europe’s largest market marks another important step in strengthening the digital European foundation and the competitiveness of Europe.

The agreement will see Netcompany establish a local office in Munich.
