Job Description
Are you ready to discover the role of a Senior System Engineer in Netcompany?
As a Senior System Engineer you will:
- Own and manage the AIX and Linux server infrastructure supporting card transaction processing applications, Oracle RAC databases, and middleware platforms.
- Design and maintain comprehensive infrastructure monitoring using Grafana, Prometheus, Telegraf, Graphite, and ELK Stack, including production dashboards, alerting, and KPI tracking (uptime, MTTD, MTTR, capacity utilisation, SLA compliance).
- Develop production-grade scripts and automated tooling for infrastructure automation, health checks, certificate lifecycle management, configuration drift detection, and environment provisioning.
- Manage Oracle Tuxedo and Oracle WebLogic Server infrastructure, serving as the primary escalation point during critical production incidents.
- Lead infrastructure root cause analysis using system logs, core dumps, sar data, vmstat/iostat captures, and network traces.
- Mentor junior engineers on systems administration, scripting, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Qualifications
What would make you a fit for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of production experience in Unix/Linux systems engineering.
- Deep hands-on expertise with AIX and/or Linux (RHEL/CentOS) system administration.
- Advanced scripting skills with demonstrated ability to build production-grade automation and monitoring tooling.
- Proficiency in SQL with hands-on experience supporting Oracle Database environments (RAC awareness preferred).
- Experience with Oracle Tuxedo and/or Oracle WebLogic Server administration at the infrastructure level.
- Proven track record managing production incidents in mission-critical environments, including root cause analysis using system logs, core dumps, and performance data.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, firewalls, load balancing).
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
It would also be a plus if you match some of the following:
- Knowledge of card switching systems, payment processing infrastructure, or financial messaging platforms.
- Experience with performance engineering tools (perf, strace, dtrace, flame graphs) and vendor support escalation workflows.
