Job Description
Netcompany is seeking a Platforms Support Engineer to join its Cloud Operations Team and drive forward our Netcompany Platforms support capability to deliver high-performing solutions to our clients. Based in a brand-new purpose-built office in Leeds city centre, you will join a forward-thinking organisation that prioritises your personal development.
About the Role
As a Platform Support Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions built on Netcompany Platforms for our prestigious clients. You will leverage your expertise in Azure, Infrastructure as Code and Kubernetes to deliver robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments. This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and the chance to work on some of the largest, most complex and technically innovative programmes in the industry.
Key Skills/Experience
- Minimum 2 year’s hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including identity and access management, cloud networking, and security implementations.
- Minimum 2 year’s hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies in enterprise environments
- 6+ months experience with containerisation and orchestration with Kubernetes (either on-prem, Azure AKS or AWS EKS)
- Strong git knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab or similar CI/CD tools in an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrable experience with at least one scripting/programming language (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
- Familiarity with Linux systems
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and implementation of security controls in Azure.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to plan and organize one's own work. Accurately report issues and progress
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be willing to do UK-based travel for projects
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to achieve UK Security Clearance
Qualifications
- Experience of the EFK stack for monitoring Kubernetes environments
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for enterprise applications
- Experience designing and implementing robust monitoring solutions and advanced alerting strategies
- Experience in implementing disaster recovery and high-availability solutions for critical systems
- Knowledge of cost optimisation strategies for cloud resources
- Azure or AWS Certifications (such as AZ-104 Azure Administrator, AZ-400 DevOps Expert, AWS Associate Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
