Job Description

So, what are the main responsibilities of a Software Asset Consultant in Netcompany? 

As a Software Asset Consultant, you will:

  • Interpret licensing rights and obligations in light of contractual clauses, End User License Agreements (EULAs), license grants and other relevant documents.
  • Create and maintain license entries in the Software Asset Management (SAM) system.
  • Prepare and execute Software Asset Management (SAM) actions in order to bring into compliance or optimize licenses in cooperation with other stakeholders.
  • Assist with project management of the implementation of additional functionalities in the SAM system.
  • Assist with drafting of IT policy in the SAM domain.
  • Provide software license budget evolution and forecasting information.
  • Assist with preparation of contract negotiations with vendors and follow up of developments in software licensing.
Qualifications

What would make you a fit for the role:

  • Master's degree in IT, Economics, Law or similar + 3 years of experience in related field OR Bachelor's degree IT, Economics, Law or similar + 5 years of experience in related field.
  • Capacity to provide analysis of the licensing situation of software products.
  • Experience with encoding of free-form legal clauses and/or other specifications into rules in an IT system ·
  • Experience with data conversion to enable import into an IT system and knowledge of configuration of an IT system.
  • Intermediate to high level of knowledge on how to locate files, add/remove entries and other technical evidence of license consumption on computers.
  • Ability to prepare and present compliance reports based on contracts or industry standards and ability to draft policies and procedures in IT.
  • ITIL V4 Foundation Certified or the certification must be passed within 3 months after the start.
  • A SAM certification is not mandatory, but preference will be given to candidates with a CSAM or other SAM certification.
  • Excellent comprehension and expression (written and oral) in English, knowledge of French is an asset.
