Job Description

The Principal Data Lead will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the development of the Data Centre of Excellence (CoE) by creating the best practices for creating consistency, efficiency and excellence of data skills, best practices, thoughtful leadership and driving performance to ensure that Netcompany achieves its Strategic Objectives. You will also work with our clients to enable them to become more data-driven through application of data management capabilities. 

Role responsibilities

Our projects will vary and your responsibilities will differ based on client requirements, but could include: 

Strategy and thought leadership

  • Engage with senior management to understand business needs and establish a strong data-driven approach to decision-making across the organisation. 
  • Advise leadership on all data issues across the portfolio, ensuring data is managed as a strategic asset and acting as the Subject Matter Expert on data across the business. 
  • Formulate and implement a data governance strategy and framework to manage data throughout its lifecycle, aligned with the company's business objectives. 
  • Defining internal / external-facing thought leadership. 

GTM Collaboration and growth

  • Provide technical expertise and experience in our pre-sales and bid management processes by identifying and researching business development opportunities on new or existing clients.  
  • Represent Netcompany’s data capabilities, experience, and values to prospective clients. 
  • Build a strong partnership strategy and understanding the competitive landscape to develop and nurture new client opportunities whilst leveraging your network. 
  • Provide oversight and support whilst maintaining senior-level client relationships as a trusted advisor.

CoE and people development

  • Shaping and contributing the growth of UK Data practice by developing the vision, strategy, and value proposition. 
  • Build and lead a high-performing data organisation, attracting top talent and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. 
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to develop the data community and empower them to deliver exceptional results. 
  • Build strong relationships with other CoE’s and foster a collaborative culture to drive alignment and maximise the impact of Data CoE. 
Qualifications
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate business needs and opportunities into data initiatives that drive measurable business value. 
  • Experience of developing data strategies and frameworks and setting the standards and ways of working for the data CoE 
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, security, and compliance requirements, with experience implementing and enforcing data governance frameworks and practices 
  • Experience with cloud would be advantageous 
  • Consulting experience in client-facing projects and working with CXO level 
  • Commercial acumen, combining technical experience with a commercial edge 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and influencing senior stakeholders
