What is it about?

The Netcompany Hackathon is back for its second year – and it’s on its way to becoming a Thessaloniki tradition.

Once again, we are partnering with the city’s leading universities to bring students together for an exciting week of innovation, collaboration, and real-world tech challenges.

Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to the Netcompany Hackathon – Thessaloniki Edition (“Event”), organised by NETCOMPANY S.A. [following the change of name of “Netcompany – Intrasoft S.A.” to “NETCOMPANY S.A.”, by virtue of the sole shareholder’s resolution of the Company, dated 25/04/2025 held before Mr. Marc Elvinger, Notary of Grand Dutchy of Luxembourg] (“Organiser”, “Netcompany”). By registering for and participating in the Event, all participants (“Participants”) agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

 

2. Eligibility

  1. Participants must be students at the following Universities:
  • University of Macedonia

Department of Applied Informatics

 

  • Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

School of Electrical and Computer Engineering

School of Informatics

School of Mathematics

School of Physics

 

  • International Hellenic University

Department of Information and Electronic Engineering – Thessaloniki

Department of Computer, Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering – Serres

 

  1. All Netcompany employees, interns, contractors, consultants and generally, any and all people connected with Netcompany through a business relationship are excluded from participating in the Event.
  2. Participants may register as individuals or teams. Teams are limited to 5 people

 

3. Registration

  1. Registration must be completed online at [ Netcompany Hackathon Registration | Netcompany] by [Sunday 1 March 2026, 23:59].
  2. Any false or incomplete information will result in disqualification.
  3. Participants may indicate their preferred challenge or track during the registration process. While Netcompany will make reasonable efforts to take these preferences into account, the final allocation of participants to challenges and/or tracks will be determined by Netcompany. This is to ensure a balanced and fair representation across all challenges and to support the smooth and effective running of the Hackathon.

 

4. Event Rules

  1. All Submissions must be original and created during the hackathon period (6 March 2026] to [15 March 2026]).
  2. Pre-existing codebases are permitted only with prior approval and must be disclosed at submission.
  3. Participants must adhere to the theme of the Event, if specified.
  4. All coding, design, and developmentmust be completed exclusively by registered Participants. External assistance is not permitted.

 

5. Code of Conduct

  1. Participants must always behave respectfully. Any harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour during the Event will result in immediate disqualification.
  2. By registering to the Event all Participants represent and warrant that any Submission does not contain any viruses, Trojan horses, worms, spyware or other disabling devices or harmful or malicious code.
  3. The Organiser reserves the right to enforce this policy at their discretion.

 

6. Intellectual Property

  1. All intellectual property rights related to the Submissions shall constitute property of the respective Participants.
  2. The Organiser shall have no claim to, and shall not acquire any interest in, the Intellectual Property rights associated with the Submissions.
  3. By submitting a Submission, Participants grant the Organiser a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, modify, and showcase their submissions, strictly for promotional purposes of the Hackathon.
  4. Participants confirm that their submission does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights.

 

7. Judging and Prizes

  1. Projects will be judged based on the criteria of innovation, technical complexity, usability, ease of use and quality of deliverable.
  2. Decisions of the judges are final and not subject to appeal.
  3. Prizes are non-transferable and must be claimed within [3 months].  The following supporting documents must be submitted by the participants from the winning teams:- The full bank details of the account holder- The full tax details of the natural person beneficiary (printout from myAADE, which we will do for each deposit)
  4. The Organiser reserves the right to modify or withdraw prizes in exceptional circumstances.
  5. First winner prize – 3,000€
    Second winner prize – 2,000€
    Third winner prize – 1,000€
  6. Winning teams will receive a free career workshop session conducted by Netcompany.
  7. All participants will receive Certificates of completion/participation in the Event.

 

8. Liability

  1. Participants are responsible for their own equipment, data, and personal belongings. The Organiser is not liable for any damage, loss, or theft.
  2. The Organiser is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or illnesses incurred during the Event.
  3. Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser and sponsors from any claims arising from their participation.

 

9. Privacy

  1. Participant data collected during registration will be used solely for Event purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
  2. By participating, Participants agree to be photographed and filmed, and consent to the Organiser using their likeness for promotional purposes.
  3. The Organiser declares that participant data will be collected and processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

 

10. Disqualification

The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify Participants for non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions or the Event rules.

 

11. Amendments

The Organiser may modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of significant changes.

 

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the Laws of Greece. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Athens.

 

Acknowledgment: By registering for the Event, Participants confirm they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
