Data-driven supervision of banks, insurance companies and trading markets

Case

Data-driven supervision of banks, insurance companies and trading markets

Netcompany has delivered a financial data platform for the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority, enabling swifter and better analyses for the supervision of banks and insurance companies, and market fraud surveillance of the entire Danish trading market.

To strengthen financial supervision and fraud detection, the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority needed a modern, robust foundation for handling and analysing large volumes of complex data.

In the new financial data platform, delivered by Netcompany, data is structured and formatted to match the individual user’s needs. Some data are visualised in an easy-to-navigate dashboard solution, others are cleaned and structured in preparation for more advanced analytics.

The data platform is the foundation of high-volume, complex data, covering millions of numbers and calculations from financial reports and trading transactions, etc. Consolidating, structuring, and presenting data the right way requires close collaboration with the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority’s analysts and investigators. To realise all potential value, such a system requires organisational adaptation.

In parallel with the agile system implementation, Netcompany advised a data strategy, involving the implementation of new organisational units and business processes, enabling the path for the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority to become data-driven.
